A Quick Trip

A few weekend ago, we met our friends Justin & Tina in DC. We wandered around the town a bit on Saturday. There is so much to see and never enough time to do it all! But here are a few fun photos.

This is probably my favorite picture of our whole family. I wanted to use it on our Christmas card this year...but there was a giant blue sign in between my head and Ryan's head. I "photo shopped" it out...but it seemed a little too obvious. Anyway, I still think it is super cute!!

Kid Pics

Over the last few weeks we've been trying to soak in every bit of sunny warmer weather Mother Nature sends us because we know that the deep freeze is coming! Here are a few pics from a recent park outing.

Halloween

As always, we enjoyed some fun Halloween festivities - I think it's a sweeeeet holiday (pun intended). Mia had a fun get together with some church pals. That morning she switched things up on me spur of the moment and decided that she needed to be Minnie Mouse instead of Cinderella. So, we came up with a passable costume (didn't get the full pic of it though...). In the photo below she is half Minnie Mouse - half 'dress up' with a friend's princess gear.

Pumpkin Carving with Dad for Family Night. (not sure what the grumpy face is all about in the first pic :)

The Princess and The Pumpkin in all their glory.

Mia had a great time - even when it started to rain on us!!

Fall Fun

We've been enjoying the Fall Fun around town. Here is a quick look:

On Saturday we went to a local farm that does a fun hayride and pumpkin patch activity:

Right about the time we got out to the patch is when the rain started, at first it was just sprinkling....and then it was pouring!

We've also been to a local orchard recently - mostly to play. Last year we picked apples with Ryan's parents, but this year it was too late for any good apples (plus, I found that you can get them cheaper in the stores! So picking them is mostly for the experience.) We had a good time, I especially enjoyed Mia's panic attack on top of a rickety slide that ended with Ryan helping her down....heehee

We also had to make a trip out to Longwood Gardens. This place is amazing! We love it! They were having a fall event with giant pumpkin carving. Unfortunately, it was pouring rain that day - so everything was moved inside. But, it was still pretty amazing! Here's a look:

The kids posing in the children's garden:

Here we are standing in front of the winner of the giant pumpkin contest. This beauty tipped the scales at an amazing 1400 lbs!!!

And I just had to throw this pic in for fun. This is my cute little guy!!

Happy Halloween! We'll post pictures of all that fun later.

Calvin Updates

Here's our cute little guy - still has a toothless grin :)

Calvin has started sitting up! I have to be careful not to leave him unattended, at least not without a pillow behind him.

A quick shot of my happy family before church:

Calvin adores his big sister. He watches her everywhere she goes and smiles at her all day long. Mia loves to help me get Calvin in the mornings and after naps; I think she likes to see his smiles almost as much as I do.

This week I decided to try some rice cereal with Calvin. He was pretty interested....

but, Mia was even more interested!

Toddler going on Teenager

Mom: "Mia, if you don't get your poopy in the potty you can't watch any TV tomorrow."

Mia: Runs to the toilet. With her pants around her ankles, she makes her best crabby face and yells: "If you don't let me watch TV, I'm not going to live here any more!"

Growing Up

I started looking through some old pictures with Mia around the time of her birthday. She loves to see herself "when she was a baby", and so do I. I thought it would be fun to post some old pictures. I didn't put them in order, although the first one is from her first week and the second one is from her blessing day.

I could post pictures all day long :) I love my little girl, and it's really fun to see how much she's grown.
