This one is for you Mom!
Got my hair chopped off. :) (It's all wet from the SNOW we had) (And yes, we still haven't covered the grates on the wall...hahahaha)

Here's Hayley. She didn't love the costume, but I had to get one picture.

Calvin is adorable. Love that boy. He HATED the costume, until he got a bucket full of candy.

Carving pumpkins in the dark. No power for 24 hours - new record for us since we've been out here. Hope it's not a precursor of things to come this winter.

For three weeks Mia was going to be a firefighter, but at the last minute she couldn't give the princess up. :)

This is after church the day we blessed Hayley. She was really great through the blessing - not a peep!

Mia has recently discovered 'posing' for pictures. Had to take one to commemorate the first snow of the winter.

Calvin enjoying our scary face pumpkin pancakes.

Our scary face pumpkin pancakes.

Mia loved them so much we did it twice.

My boys in the snow.

I'll try to post a video real quick of Calvin wrestling his Halloween costume - it was hilarious.

Spring has Sprung!
Spring has sprung and we've celebrated Calvin's two year birthday. I love that his birthday comes with spring, flowers, leaves, and Easter. So many happy things at once.
Calvin is my favorite little guy in the world. He really does melt his Mom's heart. Here are a few things I love about him:
He gives really great kisses and hugs - every night he puckers up and goes around to Mia, Dad, & Mom for good night hugs and kisses.
He loves to cuddle, he'll snuggle up next to me on the couch and smile.
He has gorgeous brown eyes.
He sings this cute little song "Chocolate Dooooo-nut".
He loves to eat - and he appreciates my cooking :)
He ADORES his big sister and literally does everything she does. (right down to taking bites of the same food at meal times)
He calls the electronic keyboard the "yellow form" (I have NO IDEA where he got that), and he regularly turns it on and starts dance parties.
He's a great little singer.
He is pretty good and listening to me and following directions - I think Mia has set a good example in this area.
He is obsessed with books - especially look and find books, and this new book of animal pictures I gave him for his birthday. He would do this all day long.
I better stop - here are some pictures of the boy already.

Dad, of course, gave Calvin a new golf club for his birthday. He is being groomed and conditioned at an early age to be his Dad's golf partner. So far it's working quite well.

A friend in our ward gave me a Blue's Clues cake pan. It turned out great - and Calvin loves Blue's Clue.

However.....chocolate cake with chocolate frosting sort of defeated the purpose of the shaped cake. Ryan said I should have used colored frosting....why didn't I think of that sooner? I guess I was just really excited about all that chocolate.

I was trying to upload a few funny videos, but it's not working very well. Here's the only one I got.
Finally Spring has Sprung! It is SOOO nice to see some green around here again. It makes me remember how beautiful this place is. We've been enjoying some great weather the last two days. And I have been ooohing and aaaahing over all of the flowers.

This is the street just down from our place - we walk along it to the park.

Gotta love the daffodils, and the cute kids wearing summer shorts again.

No, that's not my house - but wouldn't it be awesome if it was? It's actually an apartment building. :)

There is a pond across the street and Calvin has been delighted beyond measure to find lots of these guys hanging around. We like to poke them (gently) with sticks to see them hop into the water.

This is the walkway by the pond. So gorgeous.

Springtime?
Is it Spring yet? I don't ever remember feeling this anxious for warm weather. I usually enjoy the cold, but lately - all I can think about it Spring. I'm sure a big part of it is that the kids and I are getting bored of the not-so-great-indoors. *SIGH* it is SO nice to spend hours outside at the park! The kids are growing up fast though it seems. I keep hoping that Mia's shrinking pants will last through the winter!
The other day Mia came in telling me that she had a big surprise for me. She led me to her room and proudly declared that she had made her bed all by herself (which is no small deal since she sleeps on a queen bed!). She had also neatly arranged all of her stuffed animals on top - so naturally I thought it was picture worthy.

I love the sunset in this picture, not to mention the good looking people.

It seems like I often end up being the indoor play equipment.

So Calvin LOVES to cook. Yes, I let him bring a chair over and help, and yes he knows the stove is hot, and yes he has burned his hand, but - now he knows that hot means don't touch.

He always wants to stand up while eating....have to buckle him down every time.

Lots of pictures of Calvin...hm...anyway. He found some of Ryan's golf balls the other day and he knew EXACTLY what to do with them. I think he will fulfill all of Ryan's dreams of having a devoted golfing buddy.

Snowy and Cold
Hello blog! It's been a while. My Mother tells me I should update you once in a while. Here is a picture or two or three of Calvin in the snow. Mia would be in them too, but she was on a "date" with her Daddy.

Yes, I am a bad Mom and I let my children play in the street.

We had a friend at Church today call Calvin Ryan's "mini me."

I told him to wear gloves, but he pulled them off. Now, he can't figure out why his hands are cold.

We are supposed to get another storm this week - where are we going to put more snow????
